In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Buffalo Grove, Illinois area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.What you get to do every day

• Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
• Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
• Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
• Participate in various department-wide initiatives
• Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
• Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
• Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
• Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
• Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
• Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
• Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly paymentsRequirements
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
  • Proficient in ERP systems
  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards
  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Qualifications Bachelors Degree
  • Command of Microsoft Excel
