Join our diverse, global team of talented people, and be inspired to grow every day.We are looking for a Senior Director, Finance to serve as the primary business partner to the Vice President - Core Histology and will be accountable for the financial results of the manufacturing and R&D operations of this nearly $0.5B book of business. The role entails working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize production costs, enable investments in manufacturing and R&D, and quite importantly, support timely business decision-making. The individual must operate with a CFO mindset as the global leader of Core Histology FinanceKey Responsibilities:Partner with the VP - Core Histology to drive the growth and profitability of the businessHelp set and deliver on the financial objectives for the Core Histology businessLead the Core Histology Finance Teams based in Nussloch (Germany), Richmond (Illinois) and Shanghai (China)Demonstrated success working with (and leading) cross-functional teams to understand business drivers and deliver financially and operational impactful outcomes to the businessOwn all Core Histology budget, forecasting and actual reporting processes along with related LBS/DHR deliverables w/ special focus on forecast accuracyAnalyze financials with the goal of generating insights on key business drivers and initiating countermeasures if the BU deviates from its targets.Support all financial aspects of new product development via the product life cycle management toll-gate processMaintain a culture of control & compliance with regards to financial controls & cost disciplineDrive Working Capital Improvement (particularly higher DPO and lower DIOH)Lead & deliver on special projects (Make vs. Buy, Production / Product relocation, M&A)Drive culture of ongoing process improvement to help identify opportunities in the areas of 1) minimizing idle capacity, unit & total cost, and 2) maximizing labor & instrument efficiencyDesired Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor's or advanced degree with a concentration in Finance/Accounting/Economics or related field is highly recommendedProfessional qualification (CPA, ACA or equivalent) a strong plus but not required12+ years of relevant work experienceCareer and/or competency progression within the Finance function, covering financial control, cost management, financial planning and forecasting, and system & process improvementPrior experience supporting R&D and/or Manufacturing/Supply Chain is required; prior experience supporting Commercial functions is a strong plusExperience working in an international environment, preferably with a matrix-structured US or European multinationalWorking knowledge of SAP is a strong plusTrack record of success in developing talent and managing team performanceCan drive strong employee engagement across a geographically/culturally diverse teamCommitted to continuous improvement through the use of DBS/Lean toolsCan deal with ambiguity and apply critical-thinking and creativity to research and analysisStrong communication skillsDiversity StatementAt Danaher, we are dedicated to building and sustaining a truly diverse and inclusive culture.
