from within our organization. -The Tax Director position is a new
role and requires a driven, income tax technical and tax accounting
expert that will continue building a controlled, risk-mitigated tax
process. - They will also build tax operations in a reimagined way
from traditional tax departments to make Tax a highly efficient,
effective, and value-add Finance department.Reporting to the Vice
President of Tax & Treasury, and with direct visibility to the CFO,
this individual will be tasked with leading and managing the
Company's tax operations at the federal, state, and local levels.
This is a key leadership role that will allow the successful
candidate the opportunity to leverage technical expertise and
strategic skills to manage the Effective Tax Rate and cash taxes to
minimize the impact to financial statements, and to maximize cash

task.How you will spend your days as a Director of Corporate Income
Tax:
- Ensure the timely and accurate filing of all domestic income
tax returns, overseeing the outsourced tax return provider
engagement
- Manage activities required for the timely and accurate
preparation of the annual and quarterly tax provision including
managing the outsourced tax provision provider engagement, and
developing in-house expertise to resource the tax provision
workstream in-house
- Maintain, review, and certify the accuracy of all tax accounts
and review of monthly tax account reconciliations, and provide
timely tax cash forecasts to FP&A and Treasury Teams -
- Lead and manage all tax accounting and reporting financial
closing procedures, and deliver tax provision documentation to
external auditors including analysis and presentation of tax
expense, and managing/addressing auditor questions
- Develop and enhance processes and procedures to improve tax
accounting and tax compliance workstreams with a continuous
improvement mindset
- Monitor federal and state income tax law changes, analyze
impact on tax return filing positions and tax provision, and
incorporate changes into returns/provision as appropriate
- Oversee business operational changes, analyze impact on tax
return filing positions and tax provision, and incorporate changes

- Develop relevant analytics in connection with US LBM's national
tax footprint and drivers to support strategic tax planning,
including organic and M&A related planning
- Assess, implement, and maintain tax reporting positions
including methods and elections and transfer pricing
reports/compliance and annual assessment of transfer pricing
structure
- Oversee federal and state tax issues
- Create tax memos documenting tax return positions and tax
provision analysis, including quarterly valuation allowance
analysis
- Support federal and state income tax audits
- Review and revise SOX Tax Controls for corporate structure, and
ensure that adequate internal/external staffing is retained to
effectuate SOX Controls and other risk-mitigating controls
- Identify and implement automation improvements to compliance
and provision processes
- Manage M&A tax due diligence and integration of newly
acquired companies into the tax compliance and provision processes,
and support income tax due diligence of target acquisitions
- Serve as a subject matter expert to meet the demands of a
rapidly growing business
- Manage external relationships with advisors and
consultants
- Manage compliance team budget for outside advisors
- Support and/or own other special Tax-specific and/or company
projects (e.g., ERP implementation)
- Interact with various levels of finance and non-finance
personnel ensuring highest level of service

- 10+ years of relevant experience with a Fortune 500 Tax
Department and/or Big 4 Tax Group
- BS/BA degree in accounting, finance, economics or a relevant
field
- CPA, MST and/or JD is strongly preferred
- Broad knowledge of tax policy and expert level of federal
and/or state income tax technical knowledge
- Expert knowledge of ASC 740 and all relevant GAAP rules
impacting the calculation of the tax provision
- Extensive experience in SEC reporting
- Ability to diagnose and communicate complicated tax issues in
terms of impact on financial statements, cash tax position, and on
business operations
- Success in identifying ad implementing innovative and automated
tax solutions
- Significant project management skills
- Excellent professional tax staff development skills
- Ability to work remotely (office is available but flexibility
and ability to deliver in remote work environment is critical)
- Experience implementing large scale tax automation solutions,
ERP, eCommerce, or other financial accounting systems, and/or using
major robotics process automation (RPA) tools and data analytics
tools would be a plus
