Job Description Job Description Description: Good Harvest Market, Waukesha County’s largest independently owned natural and organic grocer, is currently seeking to hire a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support our grocery store, onsite restaurant (Hop Harvest & Vine), and surrounding grounds. This role is ideal for someone who has strong hands-on skills repairing and maintaining equipment onsite, enjoys troubleshooting and fixing things, and is also comfortable with the custodial and groundskeeping work required to keep a large, public-facing facility clean, safe, and well maintained. This position combines facilities maintenance, equipment care, cleaning, and outdoor work, and is best suited for someone who enjoys staying active and being useful across a wide range of tasks. Responsibilities and Duties The Facilities Maintenance Technician helps ensure our building, equipment, and grounds are clean, safe, and functional. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Cleaning and maintaining restrooms, floors, entrances, and other customer-accessible areas Monitoring the facility for safety concerns such as spills, leaks, or trip hazards and addressing issues promptly Maintaining outdoor spaces including sidewalks, patios, walking paths, and playground surroundings Assisting with snow and ice response and other weather-related needs Performing basic facilities maintenance and minor repairs within an in-house scope Troubleshooting equipment and facility issues and helping determine when outside service is needed Cleaning, defrosting, adjusting, and maintaining grocery and restaurant equipment Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition Requirements: Qualifications and Skills Qualifications include: Prior experience in facilities maintenance, equipment repair, custodial, groundskeeping, or similar hands-on roles preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort performing on-site equipment repairs and troubleshooting Willingness to perform custodial and groundskeeping duties as part of a daily routine Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and use good judgment regarding safety and scope Reliable, dependable, and comfortable responding to weather-related needs Physical Requirements This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to perform regular physical work safely and consistently, including: Frequent lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 40 pounds Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of items weighing up to 75 pounds, particularly during maintenance tasks and weather events Occasional pushing or pulling of heavier equipment using mechanical aids such as dollies or sliders Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, and standing Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and ice
