A specialized teaching opportunity is available for a Middle School educator skilled in Special Education, Science, and Math to support students in Grades 7 and 8. This contract position offers the chance to work closely with a manageable caseload of 8-10 students, fostering their academic growth and development in a supportive environment. The role includes teaching two self-contained sections of math and science, along with two co-taught social studies sections, providing a varied and engaging schedule for an experienced special education professional. The position is located in Des Plaines, IL, with a workday from 7:25 AM to 3:15 PM and a contract duration spanning the current school year, starting as soon as possible and ending June 6th. Key Qualifications: Experience teaching Special Education students in middle school settings Strong background in Science and Math instruction Ability to manage and deliver customized lessons to a caseload of 8-10 students Skilled in co-teaching methods, especially in social studies Capable of creating an inclusive classroom for self-contained and co-taught settings Primary Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to student needs Deliver engaging math, science, and social studies instruction in self-contained and co-teaching environments Collaborate with staff and families to ensure student progress and success Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress regularly This position is ideal for educators passionate about making a tangible difference in special education and middle school academics.
