Position Details:
Location: Buffalo Grove, IL
Compensation: Target Base Salary up to -$125K
Schedule: This is primarily traditional Mon-Fri day hours.
Travel: You may occasionally be required to travel to client sites for project consultations.

Position Description
As a Controls Engineer, you will be a part of the team responsible for the design and development of industrial controls for these pharmacy automation systems equipment. This includes electrical control system design, implementation, and debug. This function is achieved by utilization of common engineering tools such as CAD and PLC programming software. This position also supports technical assistance for the organization (when a control system issue is reported that the Service team cannot address, it is escalated to this position for resolution. You will specifically:
--- Contribute to the design, implementation and support of company products that require control systems.
--- Commissioning of new equipment including mechanical adjustments, dimensional quality tuning, control design / modifications, coordinate contractors to commission on a project and continuous Kaizen basis.
--- Create and develop PLC, HMI, Robot, control programs as required and during new equipment commissioning and modifications and ECI's (Engineering change instructions).
--- Perform project management duties for controls portion of development projects.
--- Participate in the analysis and diagnosis of identified issues using problem-solving techniques and group decision-making methods when issues are escalated; supports activities to resolve the issue and engage appropriate software development resources if necessary.
--- Proactively identify and address support situations that could jeopardize customer satisfaction; analyze problem trends at customer sites through preparation and review of case reports. Provide the results of the analysis to the controls team for incorporation into the product roadmap.
--- Participate in an on-call rotation with other controls engineers to take support calls from customers after hours.
--- Review escalated service cases to identify additional action; ensures appropriate documentation of issues and identify problem trends at sites.
--- Adhere to agreed upon "Definition of Doneness".

Position Requirements
--- In order to be successful in this role, you should have significant hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLC architecture and demonstrated skill in engineering analysis.
--- A BS in Engineering is strongly preferred, ideally in Electrical, Electronic, or Controls-related discipline.
