Job Title: Senior Data Engineer (BigQuery - GCP)

About the Role:

Are you passionate about building scalable data solutions that drive innovation in a rapidly evolving industry? Join our team as a Senior Data Engineer and lead our Data Warehouse Modernization initiative, transforming how data powers decision-making across our Auto, Home, and Commercial Insurance products.

You'll be at the forefront of developing data pipelines, engineering tools, and integrating applications on our big data platform - all within a modern GCP environment. Your work will support data scientists, product leaders, and business stakeholders in delivering real-world insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and build scalable, high-performance data pipelines using BigQuery, GCP, Python, and SQL.
Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify actionable insights.
Support cross-functional teams to develop data-driven applications and models.
Manage data ingestion, transformation, and storage using distributed systems and modern frameworks.
Implement data quality checks and automation for robust pipeline monitoring.
Build internal tools to enhance productivity of engineering and analytics teams.
Develop data visualization tools to surface insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
Integrate applications with organization-wide architecture and tooling.

Skills & Experience Required:

5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar technical field.
Hands-on expertise in BigQuery, GCP, SQL, and Python.
Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation in cloud environments.
Knowledge of data stores such as relational databases and document-based systems.
Working knowledge of Linux scripting, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Docker, or CloudFormation.
Experience building and deploying ETL workflows and data products.
Insurance industry experience or familiarity with Policy Administration Systems is a plus.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field-or equivalent experience.
