Maintenance Technician Job Description: As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous operation and upkeep of our machinery and equipment. You will play a critical role in minimizing downtime and ensuring all equipment is running efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the sheet metal industry. Key Responsibilities: • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on sheet metal manufacturing equipment (press brakes, laser cutters, CNC machines, etc.). • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. • Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition. • Replace worn-out parts, such as belts, gears, motors, and other components. • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve maintenance issues that impact production. • Maintain maintenance logs and records for all equipment and machinery. • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure all work complies with industry regulations. • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and operational efficiency. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or degree is a plus). • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in the sheet metal or manufacturing industry. • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. • Proficient with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and machinery repair techniques. • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed Experience: • Industrial Equipment Maintenance: 2 years (Required) • Hydraulics: 2 years (Required) • pneumatic systems: 2 years (Required) • Electrical Wiring: 1 year (Preferred) $28.50 - $30.50 per hour DOE 5am or 6am start time Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week Des Plaines, IL 60016 Please send resumes to dmguerra@elitestaffinginc.com All employees of Elite Staffing must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States.
