Job Description:
Senior level Mechanical Engineer opportunity with an industry
leader in the packaging and consumer goods printing space. Oversee
all mechanical equipment operations and utilize Lean manufacturing
experience to optimize manufacturing processes. Client Details
Located in the western suburbs, this facility is part of a global
leader in the production of printing inks and coatings. It
specializes in high-performance solutions for commercial,
packaging, and digital printing applications. The site plays a key
role in research, development, and manufacturing, supporting a wide
range of industries that rely on vibrant, durable, and sustainable
print technologies. With a strong emphasis on innovation and
environmental responsibility, the organization is known for its
commitment to quality, customer service, and continuous improvement
in print chemistry. Description Lead mechanical design and
engineering efforts for manufacturing equipment, process systems,
and facility infrastructure. Oversee projects from concept through
implementation, including feasibility studies, design, prototyping,
and commissioning. Collaborate with cross-functional teams
(R&D, Production, Maintenance, and EHS) to deliver reliable and
efficient solutions. Conduct failure analysis, root cause
investigation, and corrective actions for mechanical issues. Drive
continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce
downtime, and support sustainability goals. Manage vendor
relationships and provide technical oversight on equipment
selection and integration. Develop and maintain documentation
including CAD drawings, specifications, SOPs, and maintenance
procedures. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant
safety and environmental regulations. Profile Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree a plus).
7 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in a
manufacturing or industrial setting. Chemical processing experience
Strong proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks/Fusion360
preferred), mechanical simulation tools, and P&ID development.
Hands-on experience with pumps, piping systems, mixing/blending
equipment, and automated machinery. Knowledge of custom print
design review and implementation Demonstrated project management
experience and ability to lead cross-functional engineering
initiatives. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and
organizational skills. Job Offer Base salary up to $130,000 based
on experience HSA & HFA medical, dental, and vision options through
United Health care 3 weeks of PTO 401K matching up to 6%
