Job Description:
At Waste Management, Inc., a leader in integrated environmental
solutions, we are seeking a dedicated Solid Waste Engineer to
enhance our efforts in managing solid waste services efficiently
while promoting sustainable technologies. This role involves
designing, developing, and optimizing systems and solutions for
solid waste collection, recycling, disposal, and renewable energy
generation. The ideal candidate will work closely with
cross-functional teams to innovate and implement waste management
solutions that uphold environmental compliance and enhance
operational efficiency. Design and oversee projects related to
landfill operations, waste processing systems, and recycling
facilities. Collaborate with environmental scientists, urban
planners, and government officials to ensure waste management
systems comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Develop
and implement innovative waste treatment and disposal solutions
that minimize environmental impact. Supervise the construction and
operational phases of waste management projects to ensure
compliance with environmental standards. Conduct research and
trials on new technologies for waste reduction, disposal, and
energy generation. Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory
compliance and operational efficiency tracking. Support company
sustainability initiatives by integrating renewable energy
solutions into waste management practices. Strong understanding of
environmental regulations and compliance standards. Proficiency in
CAD software and GIS tools. Solid technical and analytical skills.
Ability to manage projects, including budgeting and scheduling.
Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities. Medical

Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred. Certification in
Waste Management or Environmental Compliance is advantageous.
