Purpose and ScopeThe Associate Director, Medical Affairs will support all medical affairs efforts for the North American Commercial organization.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesServes as primary field clinical/medical affairs expert for Tolmar Products, especially FENSOLVIIdentifies and develops long term productive relationships with thought leaders and professional organizations in therapeutic areas relevant to the Company s business, especially pediatric endocrinologyAddresses identified needs of key stakeholders by providing live or virtual clinical presentations, holding one-on-one discussions and engaging in peer-peer scientific exchange to provide accurate, relevant and compliant medical and scientific supportExecutes the Medical Affairs strategic scientific program in alignment with the North American Medical Affairs teamHelps create and edit medical and scientific content of documents and presentations used by Medical Affairs for various clinical audiencesAssist in publication plan and use of abstracts/posters at scientific congresses to validate the effectiveness and safety of products or expand scientific understanding of commercial products by fostering local and/or national research and educational opportunities as an extension of Medical Affairs resources, if and when appropriateAttends scientific congresses and monitors published literature to stay abreast of current topics and competitive productsAscertains clinical unmet needs and critical competitive intelligence through one-on-ones, group presentations and attendance at medical meetings and appropriately communicates information backIs capable of working independently and remotely to maintain a Medical Affairs Field Strategy plan and develop KOL engagementWorks with Product Support team to create custom medical information letters for medical and product inquiriesTravel as needed to meet business and customer expectations (50%)Maintain thorough knowledge of disease state, clinical information, and product data within the therapeutic area.Effectively communicates scientific and medical information to both internal and external networksAttend national congresses and meetings and, as requested, provide medical and scientific booth support in compliance with industry regulations.Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge of therapeutic areas, clinical information, and product data within the company s portfolioMaintain current clinical and professional certifications, if applicableComplies with all federal, state, and local laws and regulationsFollows all Company rules and regulations, including health and safety rulesSuccessfully interacts with employees at all levels and in a matrix organizationRegular, reliable performance of all job duties and performs all other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAdvanced degree in life sciences, eg. Ph.D., PharmD, nursing degreePrior experience in Medical Affairs and/or as a MSL5+ years work outside of clinical or academicExcellent communication, cross cultural collaboration skills and organizational skillsAbility to influence multifunctional teams across local and global organizationExperience interacting with marketing and sales departmentsExperience in pediatric endocrinology would be preferred Education & ExperienceAdvanced degree in life sciences, eg.
