Job Description:

--- Provides patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans in accordance with statutes, regulations, and protocols regulating the profession. Collaborates with the other members of the treatment team (i.e., therapist, pediatrician, OT, etc.)
--- Provides psychiatric health services, education, counseling, and emotional support.
--- Issues medication prescriptions in accordance with treatment guidelines.
--- Orders laboratory tests, and interprets and explains the test results to patients.
--- Provides patient education regarding medications, risks, benefits, and reasonable outcome expectations.
--- Communicates with patients and engages in follow-up as necessary.
--- May also provide primary medical care services as indicated, in accordance with statutes, regulations, and protocols regulating the profession.
--- Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

An ideal candidate for this position would be a PMHNP who will provide medication management to patients of Therapy Etc., LLC., located in Buffalo Grove, IL. The candidate should also be capable of treating clients as young as four (4) years of age, as well as treatment of adolescents and adults.

Responsibilities:
--- Interview patient, family members, and others to evaluate a patient's mental health
--- Create a treatment plan based on the patient's requirements and the severity of their emotional, social, cognitive, developmental, or behavioral condition
--- Utilize psychotherapeutic methods and medicine, keep track of the patient's response to the medication, and make adjustments as needed
--- Consult the patient's primary care physician, nurses, or other health care professionals to ensure that all health information is taken into consideration
--- Document and maintain all patient records including types of medications used, treatments, and other relative information
--- Remain up-to-date on professional skills by reading journals, attending training seminars, and staying involved in networks

Qualifications:
--- Must have an active PMHNP license
--- Licensure to practice medicine in the state where you reside
--- Must have a strong grasp on various types of psychotherapeutic methods -
--- Superior interpersonal, and communication abilities, including the ability to explain medical concepts and situations to those who aren't medical professionals
--- Excellent observational abilities are required to effectively assess the mood and symptoms of patients
