Job Description:
Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner Profession: Respiratory
Care Specialty: - Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 3rd NOC Hours per
Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of worked or
educational clinical experience in both general and critical care
preferred. 2 years of experience in a hospital setting providing
respiratory care preferred. License: Current State License as a
Respiratory Care Practitioner Certifications: Registered
Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for
Respiratory Care. BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications required.
Must-Have: Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory
Care program. Description: A Respiratory Care Practitioner performs
designated Respiratory Care and Pulmonary diagnostic procedures.
These procedures are performed in accordance with established
policies and procedures by the department. The role involves
treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of
patients with cardiopulmonary system abnormalities. Respiratory
Care services include therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing
performed with medical gases and equipment. The Practitioner
administers medications to the cardiopulmonary system. Ventilatory
support, including maintenance and management of life support
systems, is a key responsibility. Bronchopulmonary clearance and
breathing exercises are performed as necessary. Patient education
and cardiopulmonary resuscitation are important aspects of this
role. The Practitioner is responsible for the maintenance of
natural and artificial airways. Procedures are performed in both
critical care and non-critical care areas on patients of all ages.
This position requires performing job duties in accordance with the
organization's mission, vision, and values. Additional duties may
be assigned as needed. Schedule includes 3 x 12-hour shifts per
week from 18:00 to 06:30. Weekend rotation is required.
