Summary: This position will consist of MIG and TIG welding of machine frames including sheet metal parts. Mostly steel construction but some aluminum welding will be needed. Basic machining (CNC Milling, Shear, Press, Saw) will also be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Materials welded may include steel, stainless, aluminum or various alloys.

Methods may include gas welding, shielded material arc, gas-tungsten arc, gas-metal arc or submerged arc.

All-position welding may be required.

Variety of applications required an ability to plan, layout and perform diversified work, which may be characterized a short fun production or job shop custom work).

Includes high pressure and code welding and other work involving critical safety and load requirements or welding where appearance is critical.

Regulates heat and feed and may select electrodes, tips and rods.

Works from more complex specifications, drawings, prints and welding symbols.

May provide technical direction to others.

Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Ability to follow instructions, and management directive.

Ensure a safe working environment, good housekeeping and 5's for your respective area and all of VBI

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
