$53.73 - $84.63 per hour Rush salaries are determined by many

each case. Summary:The scope of practice of the Clinical Pharmacist
Specialist covers direct and indirect patient care, education,
medication safety, performance improvement, and consultation. The
Clinical Pharmacist Specialist is responsible for the provision of
both operational and clinical pharmacy services to a general
population of patients. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and

Other information:Required Job Qualifications:---Bachelor of
Science in Pharmacy.---Illinois Pharmacist License.---Minimum of
four years of Clinical Pharmacy experience OR PGY 1 residency
completed within the last seven years, which includes Clinical /
Specialty Pharmacy experience.---Knowledge in intravenous admixture
services, intravenous drug therapy and chemotherapy.---Must be able
to work effectively with others to provide safe and effective drug
therapy.---Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work
independently and quickly in responding to and resolving a wide
range of problems.Preferred Job Qualifications:---BLS
Certification.---ACLS Certification (or shall be obtained upon
hire).---Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Board
Certification.---Doctor of Pharmacy degree and residency
certificate.---Experience and strong knowledge base in specialty
drug therapies. Responsibilities:1. Responsibilities will include
order verification, discharge counseling, projects, and education
of other healthcare professionals 2. Evaluate and verify Epic
physician's orders for therapeutic appropriateness, proper dosing,
optimal dosage form, drug interactions, allergic reactions, route
and rate of administration and therapeutic redundancy. 3. Clarify
physicians' orders when necessary through direct and timely contact
with prescriber or designated practitioner.4. Provides
patient-specific pharmacotherapy recommendations and drug
information to the medical and nursing staff. 5. Participates in
the pharmacy department's most current method of documenting
clinical interventions.6. Perform daily review of pharmacy reports
including pharmacokinetic monitoring and other drug or patient
specific reports that may be required.7. Conducts monthly nursing
unit inspections of medication storage areas as assigned.8.
Supervise pharmacy technician staff involved in the preparation and
delivery of medications ensuring coordination of workflows with
established delivery schedules.9. Coordinate medication ordering,
preparation, dispensing, and administration systems for the patient
populations outlined above on a daily basis.10. Implements all drug
use policy and formulary decisions of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics
committee.11. Participates in SE (ADR and medication error)
reporting programs.12. Complete clinical and operational activities
as designated by the departmental management team (e.g. pyxis
inventory optimization, relevant process improvement projects,
etc.).13. Precept pharmacy students and residents (PGY1 and PGY2)
as assigned in clinical and operational areas14. Provides
patient-specific pharmacotherapy recommendations and drug
information to the medical and nursing staff.15. Assess and
evaluates the medical and drug literature in order to compare and
contrast therapeutic regimens and uses for new or existing drug
treatments. 16. Implement medication safety initiatives as
determined by current departmental needs and ongoing projects. 17.
Develop operational and clinical projects as determined by current
departmental needs and ongoing projects. 18. Serves as a liaison
with other departments for collaborative research activity. 19.
Responsibility for evaluating and monitoring drug therapy relative
to the total needs/problems of the ambulatory care patient in
collaboration with physicians, nurses and other healthcare
professionals. 20. Actively participates in professional
