Job Description:
Job Description Summary: Performs quality control inspections,
checks, and tests during the manufacture of products. Inspects
materials, parts and products at different stages of production.
Records observations and may make recommendations for improving
processes. Duties and Responsibilities: Approves incoming materials
by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement
tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Approves
in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting
visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to
production supervisor. Approves finished products by confirming
specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning
products for re-work; confirming re-work. Document inspection
results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and
waste; inputting data into quality data Responsible for performing
receiving inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection
activities and documenting the results; training and maintaining
records as required. Responsible for doing FAI, documents;
coordinate supplier and customer return evaluations, process and
continuous improvement activities. Responsible for disposition of
non-conforming products on MRB tables, shipping non-conformance
parts back to supplier, get all the details of the supplier
rejected parts, document various rejects, work with Supplier
Quality Engineer to implement corrective actions at supplier
location, assist SQE at various functions for Bus solutions group.
Creates quality documentation for the production floor. Responsible
for in-process audits on the floor Performs Inspection Layouts as
needed to support Customers, Engineering, Supplier parts, and
Quality activities Maintains safe and healthy work environment by
following standards and procedures; complying with legal
regulations. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational
opportunities; reading technical publications. Accomplishes quality
and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Minimum Qualifications : Two years of College degree is preferred
or some Technical school education with six months of related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
and experience. Knowledge in Excel, Word, Quality Audits and Oracle
is a Plus. Analyzing Information, Reporting Research Results,
Documentation Skills, Promoting Process Improvement, Safety
Management, Managing Processes, Manufacturing Methods and
Procedures, Supports Innovation, CAD, Quality Engineering,
Operations Research. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 3-5 years
minimum quality inspection experience is needed. Must have the
knowledge of various measuring equipments and optical equipment;
electrical measurements; familiar with computer usage; and familiar
with ISO9001 Quality Systems. Preferred to have GD&T Knowledge,
blueprint reading knowledge In process inspection, final
Inspection, and receiving inspection experience Computer skills
with MS Office, familiar with ERP systems like Oracle is
beneficial. Able to do FAI, ISIR documents and similar documents
Able to work overtime on an occasional basis either during the week
or weekends Self-motivated, organized, mechanical minded, ability
to take direction, manage multiple tasks at once, and good
communication skills Physical Demands: The employee must
occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance
vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust
focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is
regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently
required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required
to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and
arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Work Environment: The
employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office
environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. During
visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or
hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or
airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
